General terms and conditions

Definitive booking: The guests accept with the definitive booking the general booking conditions. The legal obligation takes place with the reception of the written confirmation (by post, fax or email), which will be sent by the Alexander hotel. It will be sent at the latest within three days after booking. Please check this confirmation and report possible errors.

1. Provisional reservation (option): The provisional reservation of a room up to 21 days before arrival is possible for a maximum of 7 days. A provisional reservation can be made 5 days prior to arrival for 24 hours. If no definitive booking will be carried out till the expiry date of the option, the definitive booking will be undone without any charge. 

2. Deposit: The hotel can - depending on the season - charge a deposit of 50% of the arrangement price in order to guarantee the definitive reservation. This amount can be deposited via bank transfer, in cash or through a credit card. A valid credit card of the guest is required, if the hotel should not charge a deposit. The hotel can charge this credit card in order to pay the stay or charge possible annulations fees.

3. Voucher in case of advance payment:
The Alexander hotel credits 5% of the total amount, if it has been transferred by bank transfer or cash at least 6 weeks prior to arrival. This voucher of 5% will be credited to the hotel bill at the arrival. 

4. Cancellation costs:
The below mentioned cancellations costs will be applied if the guest should renounce of its definitive reservation. The date of reception of the cancellation is decisive for the calculation of the cancellation costs. If the room cannot be sold for the same period, the hotel reserves its right to charge the below mentioned cancellation costs. For special offers other booking conditions may apply:
Up to 21 days before arrival: at no charge
20 to 7 days before arrival: 50% of the arrangement price
6 to 0 days before arrival, “no show” and early departure: 100% of the arrangement price

5. Cancellation insurance:
We recommend to complete a cancellation insurance for the entire arrangement price. This insurance covers under certain circumstances (i.e. sickness or accident) the cancellation costs.

6. Complaints:
Defects, which cannot be repaired immediately, have to be reported within 72 hours to the hotel direction. None repaired defects have to be confirmed within 7 days. After this period no complaints can be brought up against the hotel, its representation or a third party. 

7. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction:
Davos is the sole place of jurisdiction. The GTBs are exclusively governed by Swiss law.
